In November, the Canton Legends announced the signing of the organization’s first three players for the 2009 season: defensive back Jesse Allen, quarterback Adam Haught, and receiver Chris Kolokithas (link). The three possess a mixture of collegiate and professional experience. What follows is what I could dig up in terms of statistics and background. I invite you to do some more research using the same tool I used: google. Enjoy!

Jesse Allen, a defensive back, briefly played for the University of Toledo Rockets. A brief bio is located here, though I couldn’t find any statistics. The Legends list him as 6′0″ and 190 lbs.

Veteran indoor football QB Adam Haught was by far the easiest to locate information on. Haught played for Heidelberg College (Tiffin, OH) on the collegiate level.

Following his career as a Student Prince, Haught was drafted #48 by the Raleigh Rebels in the 2005 Atlantic Indoor Football League draft. He played for the Johnstown Riverhawks in 2005(?) and 2006. I have some uncertainty here because AIFL stats are gone, and the Riverhawks are essentially defunct. In the 2006 season, Haught was selected to the second team Northern Conference AIFL ProStars.
After leading the ‘Hawks to an 8-5 record in 2006, Haught joined the Summit County Rumble of the CIFL. While the team itself was an abject failure (1-11), Haught was selected as the CIFL Offensive Player of the Week in weeks 13 and 15.

Kolokithas was also difficult to find information about. A google search (and a post on the AIFAfans forum) indicate that he goes by the nickname “Crazy Legs.” Hopefully he’ll do well and it’ll catch on. He was a WR his freshman year at Albion College in Michigan, but Albion stats indicate that he did not see any playing time that year. Nevertheless, Kolokithas is persistent. He apparently tried out for the 2008 Cleveland Gladiators squad, and according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, he has “…been to more than 15 AFL team tryouts, and made it to a final workout with the New York Dragons [in 2007].”
Best of luck to all three of the newest Canton Legends. If anyone can find out more, please post!
